Please don't worry about breaking it! Simply place your hands on the left and right side of the tablet holder and pivot it down. This video combines two stands.  They are almost identical.  One stand holds a laptop and comes with a desktop tray, phone holder, and mouse tray, and the other stand holds a tablet, and comes with a dual cradle tablet holder and phone holder.
