It easily adjusts from a minimum height of 5.5 to 16.5 inches from the top of the table to the center of the device.

Can I attach this to my headboard, clamping it to the side or top?
If you clamp it to your headboard, the horizontal reach will not be long enough to extend all the way over your head and into a usable position. If it did, the stress on your headboard would be enormous.
It does, however, clamp nicley to the corner of bedside tables to extend over you. Your table's top needs to be between 1/4 to 1 5/8 inches thick and cannot be glass.
