QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Is the book holder "gentle" on books, especially thick books? I read a lot of new library books and don't want to break the bindings. It'd seem that holding a book wide open might damage the bindings.
Great question! The LEVO G2 Book Holder Floor Stand is designed to safely and securely hold books without causing damage. This Book Stand can hold a four pound book, and if your book is larger you can add weight to the base to provide sufficient counter balance.
Why can't I use this for my ipad as well as book?
Books are secured to the G2 Book Holder Floor Stands with velcro straps and page plates. These would interfere with your tablets screen and also its ports and buttons. The spring loaded page holders are designed to hold book pages. Since the Book Platform was not designed to safely secure tablets your tablet could crash to the floor, or perhaps worse, your face.
what are the dimensions of the package?
The dimensions of the LEVO G2 Book Holder Floor Stand is 34lbs and is 25 x 20 x 8 inches
What is the maximum wait book it will hold I have a book that weighs approximately 4 pounds
The maximum weight capacity for this unit is 4 pounds. As an estimate, a book that is the size of a sheet of paper (8.5 x 11 inches) and 2 inches thick is about 4 pounds. That's a pretty large book.
How well does this hold a standard paperback book?
It works great for paperback books! We've been producing this book holding rig for over 15 years. It works so well, we haven't changed it. It holds paperbacks, textbooks, magazines, and loose paper very well. Our specially designed page holders make turning pages easy too.
Does the part that holds the book rotate?--I need to spend quite a bit of time lying on my side (not on my back) in bed, so I'm wondering if rotation to facilitate that position is possible.
Yes! Our Book Platform rotates 360 degrees, and our book mounting method will hold your book while you read on your side.
Will it hold a Kindle Paperwhite?
The LEVO G2 Book Holder Floor Stand was designed to hold books only, but we do have a similar stand that is equipped with a plaform designed specifically to hold tablets. This is the LEVO G2 Tablet Holder Floor Stand. You can find it here: https://levostore.com/products/levo-g2-deluxe
If you would like a stand that will hold both books and tablets, you can by ordering the LEVO G2 Tablet Floor Stand mentioned above and add our Book Accessory Platform Kit. You can find it here: https://levostore.com/products/levo-g2-book-platform-kit
Hello, I live in Hawaii. Do you ship to Hawaii? If not, is there a vendor here who sells you product?
Happy to let you know that we do ship to Hawaii.
how do i get it to work on either side. i am unable to get it to work with the stand on my right side while seated. seems only capable of working from the left side.
Please move your Book Holder Floor Stand to the other side of your furniture. Then, swing the book platform back 180 degrees to reach over you. At this point, you will be looking at the back of the book platform. Then flip the book platform end over end and you will see the front side of the platform. Since it is upside down, spin it into the upright position.
Does this have an accessory that works with tablets?
If you'd like a LEVO to hold books and tablets, then do not purchase the item listed above, LEVO G2 Book Holder Floor Stand. It's much better if you choose our item #33768 (LEVO G2 Deluxe Tablet Stand) and add #33701 (Book Platform Kit). You can search for these item numbers in our search tool.
Can you add extensions to the upright post of the Levo G2 for a very tall bed?
We designed a "treadmill extender" which increases the vertical height from 56" to 72". Here is a link to the page: https://levostore.com/collections/tablet-accessories-for-ipads-galaxy-fire-ereaders/products/levo-g2-height-extender
We offer it in two colors, gunmetal black and brushed silver.
Does this stand have a light to read by?
Our LEVO Super Bright LED Light is a handy book light, reading light and multipurpose light for all sorts of applications. Here is the link:
Hi, do you ship to New Zealand? Thanks
We have a dealer in the UK called www.SeriousReaders.com. They will be happy to assist.
I would like to use this to read books while lying down in my bed and looking straight up to read the book above my head. I was wondering if the specification of being able to hold a book of around 3.5 4 lbs is still correct when I set up the holder like this (with the book "hanging down" from the holder in a horizontal position)? I was also wondering if it is known which book sizes are supported (not the weight, but which height and width of books)?
A favorite feature of the LEVO G2 Book Holder Floor Stand is that you can lay supine and read hands free. The stand will support a book weighing up to four pounds and if you add a sufficient counter balance to the base, such as another heavy book or hand weight, it can support a seven pound book.
What is the dimension of the horizontal arm?
The horizontal reach of the LEVO G2 Book Holder Floor Stand is 18" measured from the edge of the base to the center of the Book Platform.
My sister is interested in the book holder but she is concerned about reading paper backs that tend to spring closed. She does not think the wires with the balls on the ends are strong enough to hold the book open. Will the stand hold a paperback book upside down?
I understand her concern. Books attach to the LEVO Bookholder Platform with page plates and velcro straps. The spring loaded page holders can hold a signifant amount pages without issue, but if she would like to read supine, she should attach her book to the book platform with the straps.
It helps me with my readings. If there is more weight needed at the base, I just add a 5-pound dumbbell and it works just fine.
I am very pleased with my purchase. A neck pain disability has made glancing down a book difficult over the years and I found myself limiting reading time. Since I will be retiring soon I wanted to live a life with more reading and not less.
This product has proven to be better than I expected and I am very glad that I made the switch. Assembly was fairly easy although I would have liked more written than just pictorial instructions but that was a minor issue. I have been recommending it to others and will continue to do so.
I’ve had my G2 for 3years or so. I drag it back and forth between my bedroom and living room every day. It’s study, stable and swapping from the book platform to the iPad platform is so easy.
I recently ordered the new clamp platform and had questions. Customer support / Sales were very responsive and helpful.
Using this stand has helped resolve a lot of my neck and shoulder issues.
I just LOVE the Levo. I enjoy reading and my arms would fall asleep holding the books. Even when I sat at my desk I would get kinks and aching in my neck. The Levo has cured that. I can read as long as I can sit, and even better is the fact that I can move from chair to chair by simply rolling along with me. What a fantastic assistant. Now I will wish the holder would also swivel to a flat position. someday, you can bet some day.
I have had this G2 book stand for about 2 years now> It still works GREAT. I have significant amount of nerve damage in my neck, arms and hands, and am unable to hold on to much of anything, even a news-paper, for any length of time. I use mine about 12-14 hours a day EVERY day. So it gets a lot of use. I use it sitting up and lying down--flat on my back and on my side. It can be set in ANY position to accommodate what I need, and readily changed or adjusted incrementally. Moves easily around my house from pace to pace as well. But I sue it mostly in bed. I made one minor change to format. I purchased ELASTIC velcro straps to hold the books. I found them in a fabric store. These stretch so it is easier to get book in and out instead of having to completely open the strap and redo to change books. I was initially concerned that ALL the joints are plastic. I felt that they would not hold up to rigorous use I would give them. But two years+ later the joints are holding up well. The only fading effectiveness I find is in the vertical clamps, (SOO easy to use in the new design) that hold vertical pole up. The pole telescopes at two levels. They seem to slowly sink and my book will move toward the ground. By slowly, I mean over 2-3 days. Then it needs adjusting upwards again. But I read hardcover books. Usually they are quite oversized. I would guess that some of them skirt the 4-5 pound book limit. And after 2+ years, the weight is taking a toll on the pole clamps. I Make sure that I collapse the vertical arm toward the pole when not using to minimize stress on the joints from heavy books when I am not reading. But this would be the only concern I have. I am on a limited income, so I cannot afford an reader. Also my eyes do not like them. So I still use Library books. I look for paper backs and try to at least alternate a heavy book with a paper back to limit stress times. Very easy to turn pages as well.
